After completing the NPORS S001 Site Safety Awareness Course, candidates can take the CITB Health, Safety, and Environment Operatives Test. Passing this test makes them eligible to apply for the CSCS Green Labourer Card (also called the green card), which is required to work as a laborer on construction sites.
To keep the CSCS Green Labourer Card valid, cardholders need to renew it every five years. This involves attending a refresher course and retaking the CITB test before the current card expires.
Your CSCS card remains valid for five years, though trainee cards may have one or three-year validity periods. It’s essential to stay current, as standards and regulations may evolve. Consequently, you may need to re-sit the CITB Health, Safety, and Environment test when your CSCS card expires to ensure you meet the latest industry standards and continue to access valuable opportunities in the construction sector.
