Overview

The Working in Low-Risk Confined Spaces SQA-Accredited course is designed to provide learners with the knowledge and practical skills necessary to work safely in low-risk confined space environments. This course will enable participants to meet national standards by demonstrating their competence in both practical skills and theoretical knowledge related to low-risk confined space work. Participants will gain an understanding of the characteristics of low-risk confined spaces and the safety measures required to ensure a safe working environment.

Course Objectives:

  • Identify and classify low-risk confined spaces.
  • Understand the characteristics of low-risk confined spaces, including adequate ventilation and absence of flood risk.
  • Demonstrate practical skills for working safely in low-risk confined spaces.
  • Recognise potential hazards associated with low-risk confined spaces.
  • Implement safety measures and procedures for working in low-risk confined spaces.
  • Respond effectively to emergencies in confined spaces.
  • Comply with relevant legislation and regulations governing confined space work.
  • Carry out risk assessments specific to low-risk confined spaces.

Assessment:

Participants will be assessed through a combination of practical skills assessment, written examinations, and active participation in class discussions and exercises. Successful completion of both practical and written assessments is required to receive certification for the course.

Certification: 

Upon successful completion of the course, participants will receive a Level 2 Award for Working in Low-Risk Confined Spaces, indicating their competence in working safely in low-risk confined space environments.

Course content

Upon successfully completing the course you will be awarded a certificate.

Your days will include a 15 minute break in the morning and afternoon, you will also be allowed a 30 minute break for lunch.

Ensure your bring your own lunch.

You must bring ID & provide your national insurance number.

You will need to bring, Overalls, Safety Boots and correct PPE.

You MUST be clean shaven or the candidate will not be able to attend.

Course cancellations made within 5 working days prior of the course date, or, where delegates fail to attend the training course on the course date, will be charged in full.
