N402 Slinger Signaller – NPORS Accredited

Overview

The N402 Slinger/Signaller NPORS certification equips participants with the essential skills, knowledge, and understanding to perform the role of a slinger/signaller safely and efficiently. This certification is designed for Plant Operators who need a comprehensive blend of both practical and theory-based training, along with a formal assessment, to operate as a slinger/signaller on-site.

The role of a slinger/signaller is critical in ensuring the safe and effective movement of loads during lifting operations, and it is divided into two key components:

  • Slinging: This involves the safe selection, connection, and securing of different types of loads to a lifting hook using appropriate lifting accessories and techniques. Participants will learn how to properly assess loads, choose suitable lifting equipment, and apply correct procedures to ensure secure and stable lifts.
  • Signalling: This focuses on the accurate communication between the slinger/signaller and the lifting equipment operator. Delegates will be trained in using clear, manual hand signals and verbal instructions to guide the operator, ensuring all involved parties are fully coordinated during lifting operations.

By the end of this course, participants will have gained a deep understanding of their role in supporting safe lifting operations, reducing the risk of accidents, and enhancing the overall efficiency of site work.

The course is fully accredited by NPORS and adheres to national standards and industry best practices, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.
