Construction Safety Awareness – NPORS Accredited

Overview

Enhance your Construction Safety Awareness with the NPORS (S001) course, an accredited program recognised as the equivalent of the QCF Level 1 Award in Health and Safety in a Construction Environment. This comprehensive course caters to both seasoned construction professionals and individuals aspiring to enter the industry.

Our program equips you with the essential knowledge to perform your job safely, focusing on the prevalent risks and hazards within the construction environment. Key areas covered include safe manual handling practices, secure work practices at heights, and safe operation around machinery and equipment. Upon successful completion of the Health, Safety, and Environment knowledge test, you’ll fulfil the prerequisites to apply for the coveted CSCS Labour card, often referred to as the green card.

Furthermore, labourers who have already completed the NPORS Site Safety Awareness Course can also pursue the CSCS Green Labourers Card. This additional qualification becomes attainable upon passing the CITB Health, Safety, and Environment Operatives Test.

The CSCS (Construction Skills Certificate Scheme) card is an indispensable credential for every construction professional. Holding a CSCS card not only validates your identity but also demonstrates to employers that you possess the requisite training, qualifications, and experience necessary for construction site work. It’s important to note that most major contractors and prominent homebuilders mandate a valid CSCS card for their worksites, with many refusing entry to those without one.

Your CSCS card remains valid for five years, though trainee cards may have one- or three-year validity periods. It’s essential to stay current, as standards and regulations may evolve. Consequently, you may need to re-sit the health, safety, and environmental test when your CSCS card expires to ensure you meet the latest industry standards and continue to access valuable opportunities in the construction sector.

At Glanville Training Academy, we provide a comprehensive package that includes the convenience of booking the CITB Health, Safety, and Environment Operatives Touch Screen Test, should you require it, upon successful completion of our course.
