Prerequisites:

Delegates with no previous experience may require additional training days to ensure they meet the necessary skill and knowledge standards. Upon successful qualification, delegates will be awarded the coveted trained operator card.

  • For those seeking a CSCS logo on their operator card, please note that a Health, Safety, & Environment Test must have been passed within the last two years.

Please Note: Course Duration is dependant on experience and ranges between 10 days and 2 days. Duration will be confirmed once previous experience given.

Upon a successful completion you will gain the knowledge of:

The Health and Safety requirements of the industry and their role and responsibility as a plant operator
Regulations, legislation and operator’s handbook
Pre-use checks
The purpose of principal components, the basic construction, controls and terminology
Configure and set for site travel
Travel over rough, undulating ground, substantial inclines and level surfaces
Manoeuvre in confined spaces.
Configure and set up for loading from excavator
Explain actions required for hazards, underground and overhead services.
Load and unload materials.
Carry out shut down and securing procedures

Course content

Upon successfully completing the course you will be sent an NPORS card certifying you have passed this course.

Your days will include a 15 minute break in the morning and afternoon, you will also be allowed a 30 minute break for lunch.

Ensure your bring your own lunch.

You must bring ID and provide your national insurance number.

You will need full PPE.

Course cancellations made within 5 working days prior of the course date, or, where delegates fail to attend the training course on the course date, will be charged in full.
