Abrasive Wheels Awareness

Overview

The Abrasive Wheels Awareness course is designed to equip delegates of all levels with the knowledge and skills necessary for the safe operation of abrasive wheels. Our comprehensive curriculum encompasses up-to-date Health and Safety requirements, empowering delegates to proactively mitigate risks and adhere to the provisions outlined in the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations (1998).

Abrasive wheels pose a substantial risk of serious injury, underscoring the paramount importance of providing staff who routinely handle such equipment with the knowledge and tools to safeguard against potential hazards. Understanding the nature of abrasive wheels, including their application in grinding, machining, and cutting processes, is crucial, especially in industries like construction, where they are commonly employed. As mandated by Health and safety legislation, our course ensures that all operators of abrasive wheels receive the essential training necessary before usage, fostering a safer work environment for all.

Once the course has successfully been completed delegates will leave with:

Demonstrate a high level of theoretical knowledge in terms of work equipment safety
